CoroBot was created to minimize the complexity of robot development. By combining
a powerful PC-class platform with a robust, object-oriented software development
system, the CoroBot empowers you to rapidly deploy and develop robotics solutions.
The CoroBot also assists the hardware developer with additional physical mounting
space, ports, sensors and communication devices.
Expandable
Robot consumers often require features that go beyond what is provided by the
manufacturer. CoroBot has an open-ended design allowing you to significantly
extend its capabilities.
CoroBot's
top deck provides ample mounting space for additional hardware components
such as GPS, laser range finder, environmental sensors and more. Interfacing
to these added devices is made simple due to extra USB ports, I2C port, RS-232
serial port, 8 digital inputs, 8 digital outputs and 4 analog inputs. Open
physical design allows easy access to connectors. CoroBot's processor is
powerful enough to run additional user software. Supporting a 40G disk drive,
CoroBot has plenty of space to store data files, programs, source code etc.
Capable
Windows CoroBots are provided with a C-language API services for all onboard devices.
Microsoft Robotics Studio is still open sourced, so you are able to download and install it yourself if you desire. Additionally, an application to tele-operate your CoroBot right out of the
box is provided. The drivers and applications are provided in both source
and executable form allowing for immediate usage as well as modifications
and enhancements by the owner. CoroBot's camera, wheel encoders, and front bumper sensors
enable your robot to examine the environment, and the optional 4 degree of
freedom arm with gripper sensor enables your robot to easily interact with
the environment. Want to add autonomy? CoroBot's processer has the room to
handle localization and mapping algorithms, path planning, vision processing,
learning algorithms and more. Rather than being limited by flash memory space
CoroBot provides ample disk space to store maps, log files, learning databases
and more.
Afforable
CoroBot offers a combination of features at a price lower
than anyone else in the industry. This price difference
becomes even more significant when multiple CoroBots
are needed for activities such as swarming or classroom
activities.
